There have been numerous changes in circumstance since the project was announced, and 3eProfiler.net's release will be delayed until several preliminary projects have been completed. These changes only mean that the final 3eProfiler.net product will be better.
3eProfiler.net is a web service that allows you to store character sheets for various role playing games in an online database. You may grant viewing, editing, or other permissions for the character sheet to any member you wish, allowing GMs and players to access it. You can even make your character sheet publicly viewable via a simple internet address.
The character sheet database is stored online on our server, so you can log in and access your character sheets with just a PC and an internet connection. Forgetting your character sheet for a tabletop session, or having to painstakingly format text to post character information, is a problem no more.
3eProfiler Version 4 :: Overfiend is owned and developed by Rodrigo Castillo, David Hancock, and Michael of Myth-Weavers Games.
3eProfiler served as a character sheet hosting database for several years before the software was made open source and released to the public in March of 2004. Since August 2005, 3eProfiler.net has been closed as a host and database for its character sheet software, leaving its development and future to its small community of developers.
In the winter of 2005, Rodrigo Castillo and David Hancock began tinkering with 3eProfiler code, and have since, along with Michael, developed numerous versions of the 3eProfiler software along with several new character sheet templates. Late summer 2006, the project, dubbed "Overfiend", had matured and was software wholly different than the early model from which it had derived.
When 3eProfiler's original creator, Michael J. Eggertson, expressed his intent to lock the domains until he wanted to develop 3eProfiler further, the Myth-Weavers team decided it was time to show off the work to MJ and begin talks toward acquiring the 3eProfiler.net domain. In late August 3eProfiler.net was transferred to Myth-Weavers Games.
We want to assure you of three major points concerning our plans for 3eprofiler.net: We wish to re-open the site as a character sheet hosting database; We wish to expand the site beyond D&D 3e to host sheets for other popular systems, d20 and otherwise; We are committed to providing the character sheet hosting free of charge.
3eProfiler Version 4 :: Overfiend in its current stage is live for use at Myth-Weavers to all registered members. It will be modified for stand-alone use and deployed at 3eProfiler.net.
We plan to add to it our modules for importing/exporting character statistic blocks; rolling dice; point buy; and possibly a lite version of our Sanngetall DM Screen. 3eProfiler.net will come equipped with all the tools necessary for users to easily create and manage character sheets.
